3D AREOLA TATTOO aftercare
On the first night following the procedure, remove your tegaderm/tegaderms around 9pm-10pm. Get into the shower, and just allow the warm water to rinse the tattoo.
When you get out of the shower, towel dry the breast, not the tattoo. Let the tattoo air dry for about 3 minutes (no longer). Make sure the breast skin is dry then apply the new tegaderm/tegaderms.
Do not cut them as they will need to last for a week. Wear the new tegaderm/tegaderms for an entire week. You may shower with the tegaderm/ tegaderms on but please do not submerge.
No bathtubs, pools, hot-tubs, ocean, etc.
On the 6th night you may take your tegaderm/tegaderms off and get into the shower. Please wash your tattoo gently with a gentle soap using your hands. When you get out of the shower, towel dry the breast then sit topless for an hour so that the tattoo can completely dry out.
If you have any scabs still remaining, do not pick them and allow them to fall off on their own.
If the tattoo feels dry and scaly, apply a thin layer of the healing ointment provided.
DO NOT use any lotions with anti-aging ingredients!
If you have any questions you may contact me at 709-689-7722 or shancrot@gmail.com
Cost: $200 and up depending on area and severity.
* Radiation markers: FREE
* A free consultation is required before booking your procedure.
Scar camouflage is a non-invasive paramedical procedure that uses micro-needling and tattooing techniques to minimize and conceal the appearance of scars on the skin. Scars can result from various injuries or surgical procedures, and they can often be a source of self-consciousness or psychological trauma for many people.
Scar camouflage involves the use of specialized pigments that are carefully matched to the client's natural skin tone. The pigment is then tattooed into the scar tissue, effectively camouflaging the scar and making it blend in more seamlessly with the surrounding skin. The result is a smoother, more even appearance that can help clients feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin. The process involves a consultation with Shannon, who will assess the scar and recommend the best course of action to achieve the desired effect.
Scar camouflage is a safe and effective procedure that can be used on scars of many sizes and types, such as surgical scars, burns, cuts, self harm scars, acne scars, stretch marks, radiation markers and more. The results are long-lasting, and clients can expect to enjoy a significant improvement in the appearance of their scars after healing from the procedure.
The number of sessions needed will vary depending on the severity of the scar and area of trauma.
This, and a course-of-action plan, will all be covered in the consultation session.
$150 and up for SITE-SPECIFIC treatment (treats acne scars, body scars, stretch marks, etc)
$300 and up for AREA-SPECIFIC treatment (i.e. face, neck, chest, scalp)
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves creating tiny punctures in the skin using a handheld device with small, fine needles.
The process of microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, works by stimulating the body's natural healing response, which results in the production of new collagen and elastin fibers.
The benefits of microneedling are numerous, including reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, acne scars, improving skin texture and tone, and enhancing the overall look and feel of the skin.
Before the procedure, the skin is cleansed and numbed with a topical anesthetic.
After the procedure, the skin will appear slightly red and irritated, but this typically subsides within 1-3 days. It is important to follow proper aftercare instructions, including avoiding sun exposure and using gentle skincare products as advised by your Practitioner.
MICRO- NEEDLING AFTERCARE
1) NO MAKEUP FOR 24 HOURS
2) MOISTURIZE
Use a thin layer of the ointment provided 2-3 times/day for the first 5-7 days.
You may also use your own moisturizing cream as long as it is 'neutral' with no anti-aging/ acidic properties.
3)NO ANTI-AGING CREAMS OR SERUMS FOR ONE WEEK
No Vitamin C or A, retinol, hyaluronic or any other acidic creams or serums during the first week following your appointment.
4)AVOID DIRECT SUN EXPOSURE FOR ONE WEEK
Your skin will be sensitive for the first couple of days, but vulnerable to burning for the first week, so avoid tanning beds and direct sun exposure for the first week if possible. Always use SPF!!
7) SPF / SPA TREATMENTS
Always use SPF on the treated area(s) before going outside, even in cloudy conditions.
Avoid spa treatments such as peels, microdermabrasion, and laser for 4 weeks following your micro-needling appointment.
6) REDNESS AND SWELLING
Redness and swelling is to be expected, but generally dissipates within two to 24 hours :)
Initial session: 2.5-3 hours: $400
Follow-up sessions: 1.5-2 hours: $200
Annual colour touch-up: 1.5-2 hours: $250
After you have combo-brows, you can forget about drawing your brows in every day, dealing with smudging, fading and re-applying with pencil and powder!
This procedure uses a combination of hair-like strokes to help give your eyebrows definition and texture, along with a powder effect to help gently and naturally fill in and enhance your eyebrows for a fuller appearance.
Using a tiny ‘nano’ needle, the combo-brow implants thousands of tiny dots of pigment into the skin. The results are exceptionally natural looking, and typically longer lasting than micro-blading with no scarring or compromise of colour integrity. This procedure works beautifully for most skin-types and ages.
This procedure requires a follow-up session 4-6 weeks following the initial appointment.
During the first session, we take the time to discuss your desired results and then customize your shape and colour before we start the procedure. The follow-up session takes place 4-6 weeks later, after the skin and brows are fully healed. Results can last 2-5 years depending on maintenance, lifestyle, sun exposure and age.
The healing process is a process!
Be prepared for your brows to potentially look darker for a few days, followed by flaking and peeling, then fading. Be patient and remember, this is common and expected, and to trust the process:) We explain what to expect during healing, as well as proper aftercare in detail during the first session.

I am a very grateful client of this amazingly talented, beautiful, professional woman, and cannot express the level of my appreciation for her magical work on my 74-year old face ... yep, eyeliner, eyebrows, and lip-blushing have restored my self-confidence, along with a more youthful visage - and all done with great conversation, sharp good humour, and incredible empathy. Looking forward to the next visit.
I decided to have permanent makeup applied by the incredible Shannon Crotty, and I LOVE IT. Not only is she an absolute gem of a human to spend time with, but the process was smooth, comfortable (she has an amazing numbing cream that I wish i had buckets of), and there was no down time at all.
I now have beautifully applied eyeliner that makes my eyes pop, and I have to do nothing with it - it's always there, and ALWAYS looks good!
Thanks Shannon, I'll be back for sure!

MICRO-NEEDLING FOR SCAR CAMOUFLAGE
Micro-needling, and site-specific micro-needling are specialized procedures to help minimize and flatten scars of all types, including mild and severe acne scarring (as seen on next page).
It can be done on its own, or as a part of a scar-minimizing plan before pigments are used to further camouflage the scar(s).
*These have not yet been camouflaged with pigment. Photos shown are results after only 1 session.
2-3 sessions generally recommended for optimal results.

LIP BLUSHING - CAMOUFLAGE AND COLOUR CORRECTION
Previous lip blushing was done by an inexperienced artist who used a colour not suitable for the client’s skin tone, and also went beyond the natural lip border, leaving the client with a large orange line above her upper lip (as seen in “BEFORE” photo).
This was camouflaged with skin tone pigments to match her skin, and her lips were colour corrected with Lip Blushing using a colour that was better suited to her original, natural lips.

Paramedical Tattooing:
The Revolutionary Solution to Scars
Paramedical tattooing is a specialized area of tattooing that aims to disquise scars by
replicating the appearance of the skin and a person's natural features. It's not about
creating noticeable artwork, but about subtly blending in to give the illusion of
unblemished skin.
A wide variety of scars can be addressed by paramedical tattooing. They could be
scars from a past surgery, scars from an accident, acne scars, or even stretch marks
from pregnancy or weight gain. What all scars have in common is their power to
make a person feel self-conscious or uncomfortable in their skin. That's where
paramedical tattooing comes in, providing a solution to help individuals regain their
confidence.
Paramedical tattooing is a potential life-changing procedure for scar management. It
offers a solution that traditional scar treatments might not be able to provide. It's a
process that requires technical skill, a deep understanding of colour theory, and an
artist's touch to create a result that looks natural and blends with the surrounding
skin.
Paramedical tattooing has had such a transformative impact, that many people are
eager to share their experiences. Despite the positive stories out there, it's crucial to
remember that paramedical tattooing isn't a magical "cure". Scars are unique to
every individual, and the results of paramedical tattooing can vary from person to
person depending on several factors - including the scar's size, location, as well as the
individual's skin colour, skin type and age. A client consultation is mandatory in my
practice to assess the individual, discuss their goals, set realistic expectations, and
design a plan of action before starting the procedure(s).
In a world where perfection is often a desired outcome, it's important to remember
that every scar tells a story. However, for those who wish to soften those "stories" in
their life, paramedical tattooing provides a promising solution, helping them move
forward confidentlv.
My motto and goal is to provide:
COMPASSION, CARE & CONFIDENCEI

BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS:
Regaining Confidence Through Paramedical Tattooing
Breast cancer is an illness that presents many daunting challenges (to say the least), in-particularly the physical, psychological and emotional tolls it takes on survivors.
Today, I'd like to share information and create more awareness about the advances in paramedical tattooing that have opened new ways for survivors to reclaim their bodies and self-esteem... something I feel passionately about.
Paramedical tattooing, a specialized form of tattooing, uses colour and technique to recreate natural-looking features or conceal scars (see above picture examples of my work for reference). In the context of breast cancer, one of its significant applications is areola and nipple reconstruction. This process can significantly enhance the appearance of the breast after a mastectomy or reconstructive surgery, making them look more like they did pre-surgery.
A client of mine, and breast cancer survivor, generously shares her experience after seeing me for the areola tattoo procedure:
“I have to admit that the 3D areola tattoo for me was the best decision I have made since my procedure. It gave me so much more confidence in the way I look at myself. I highly recommend anyone who has gone through this procedure to reach out to Shannon for a consultation. I assure you it will be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make for yourself as well!"
As you can probably infer, the benefits of this procedure aren't limited to the physical. The psychological and emotional aspects are significant. Many women (and men) describe the paramedical tattooing process as the last step in their healing journey.
Paramedical tattooing can play a life-altering role in breast cancer recovery, providing survivors with an opportunity to reclaim their bodies and boost their self-esteem. It's a testament to the strength of these individuals and a symbol of their journey towards recovery and beyond.
My motto and goal is always to provide:
COMPASSION, CARE & CONFIDENCE!
UNDERSTANDING THE PROCESS:
The Journey to Your Paramedical Tattoo
Paramedical tattooing may sound intimidating, but when understood, the process is actually far less daunting. This journey of transformation often leads to renewed confidence and an enhanced outlook on life. So, what can you expect when you're getting a paramedical tattoo?
The first step in the process is the consultation. The consultation is the foundation for a successful paramedical tattoo. During this time, your practitioner will discuss your goals, assess the area to be treated, and answer any questions you have. It provides an opportunity for you to express your hopes, and for the practitioner to explain the procedure and what to expect..
Once the consultation is done, the practitioner will schedule your tattoo session. It's crucial to note that the number of sessions required can vary based on the size, location, and nature of the area to be treated. For instance, scar camouflage might require more sessions than areola reconstruction.
The tattoo session itself involves the use of specialized equipment and pigments. The artist/ practitioner will carefully select pigment colours that closely match your skin tone and then use a tattoo machine to implant the pigments into the skin, replicating the appearance of the skin and/or natural features.
"How painful will it be?" is a common question that most people have. The discomfort level is minimal and far less painful than a traditional tattoo, because topical anesthetics are used (as needed) to numb the area and make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
Aftercare is a crucial part of the process. Once your session is completed, your practitioner will provide you with detailed instructions to help you care for your new tattoo. This includes, but not always limited to, keeping the area clean and dry, moisturized, avoiding sun exposure, and refraining from submerging in water for at least 5-7 days. Often, a healing ointment is provided depending on the procedure done, and area of the body worked on.
A crucial point to keep in mind is that the tattoo will not look perfect immediately! It may appear darker, with redness and swelling. This is a normal part of the healing process, and the tattoo's final appearance will only be visible once the skin has fully healed, which generally takes 4-6 weeks.
It's important to maintain realistic expectations throughout the process. While paramedical tattooing can provide significant improvements, it may not eliminate the visibility of scars or replicate natural features exactly. However, the goal is improvement and enhancement, leading to increased confidence and comfort in one's skin.
The journey to your paramedical tattoo may be a process, but it's a process that is always worth it, leading to a feeling of empowerment and increased self-confidence.
My motto and goal is to provide:
COMPASSION, CARE & CONFIDENCE!
